  1. 12-bit oscilloscopes are now available for the same price …

  2. Great job

  3. DO NOT BUY CHEAP SOLDERING IRONS EVEN IF THEY HAVE TEMP CONTROL, NOT ALL TEMP CONTROL IS GOOD

  4. btw for the iron, i reccomend getting a 15~ one with an lcd and buttons to control the temp, has served me well for years even after dropping (not reccomended tho)

  5. Nice 1 essential & thank u

  6. component tester, temperature meter, signal generator & so on ….

  7. function genrater will be great thing to have

  8. ESR meter for capacitors

  9. Thanks for the teaching.
In amplifier building, the board needs a +/- rails, say 30DCV.
I am looking for a bench adjustable/variable switching PSU to be used for various amplifier boards (that needs different +/- DCV).
Question: What kind of description/specification do I look for in a commercial product? Thanks.

I use my fluke every day

  11. @PenguinWithaGun32 November 8, 2024 at 9:42 am

    Ifixit kit

  12. my father worked on tvs, amps en power supply¨s for 40 years with a multimeter and soldering iron
And i folowed him now for 20 years only with a multimeter and soldering iron and last added a hot air station.
you need knowlidge not hightec tools

  13. I absolutely hate the Kaiweets multimeter because of its stupid interface, such a pain to use.

  14. Nice presentation. Looks like you mainly use your Lab to study and repair computer products. If you want to get into other electronic products like Radios, Televisions, and Stereos, then you need a couple other pieces of equipment for your Lab. The only items you left out were a Signal Generator and an Isolation Transform. Hope this is helpful.

A good stick. A simple one, wood or plastic, with one pointy end and one flat. Not too long, just about 4-5", and not too thick. It has too many uses to list, from holding down stubborn components to pry loose DIPs from sockets to chew on when pondering. A good stick is essential IMO.

  16. I love electronic vacuum desolders; they just make life easier if you desolder a lot of stuff.

  17. Where do you go to access various schematics?

  18. How much it cost in total?

  19. Magnification is first and foremost a matter of inspection, and only then rework. You cannot be sure of the condition of the electronics without a close up view that’s just not possible with the naked eye.

  20. Hello, congratulations. I was wondering, how old are you? Until what age can the electronics hobby be continued? Thanks.

  21. @ayushkrishnayadav November 8, 2024 at 10:02 am

Why I think of Marvel when I hear about smith

  22. Awesome video! Do you also use like a hotplate and an infra red camera?

  23. What attenuators would i need to service cb radios like alignment and wave
Forms on a oscilloscope i was told that i would need to use them

  24. Depending on what you plan on doing, I would highly recommend a DIL IC remover for the hand tools. Sure you can pry them off with a screw driver, but you are a monster if you do.

  25. Signal generator?

  26. I don’t have any nor have money to buy please let go πŸ™πŸ˜

  27. @slickwunbanghouse7257 November 8, 2024 at 10:06 am

Appreciate the well thought out video very informative

  28. Why u forget function genertor is equiment for electronic engg

  29. Missing a signal/function generator? My main interest in electronics is audio gear, but pretty sure it will be handy in your world as well.

  30. Just use a piece of aluminum foil hooked up to ground with a resistor if you’re working with lasers or sm

  31. 14:47 This music is actually made by Quazar of Sanxion, not McKlain. It’s pretty famous demoscene music.

  32. These days I would add a USB, Ethernet, and HDMI cable tester.

"WHAT DO YOU TOOLS NEED?" Reads the thumbnail. C:

  34. I need DC power supply and multimeter

  35. WHAT DO YOU TOOLS NEED? DON’T DEAD OPEN INSIDE!

  36. In the Army, they went cheap and gave us the de-soldering wick, suctioning cups, and a lot of sweat. Thanks for the video, starting my computer engineering courses soon.

  37. @Noel’s Retro Lab Thank you so very much for this video on the things you need for electronic repair.

Ive asked electronic repair people here on youtube and they want to keep these electronic repair tools a secret.

Thanx to you, I now know what all other tools I need to fully start my electronic repair business.

    God Bless You

  38. Excellent video Noel. Thank you

  39. I’m not sure if there’s a name for them but I recently added a set of needle finger probes for precise probing on high density boards. if you find yourself working on high density boards a lot I highly recommend them.

  40. 3d printer

  41. CΓ³mo llegue aquΓ

  42. Tldr for anybody trying to build a lab don’t buy everything at once you don’t need 20 multimeters two oscilloscopes two bench power supplies

Try your luck with whatever you got right now if that doesn’t fit your criteria or breaks easily or broke quickly then get a new one get a proper one

Don’t go out buying the best the most expensive if you do maybe 2 hours of soldering in a year

Go by what do you need currently for your current project
Everything else is going to accumulate really really quickly

  43. Damn that wera set is $120 US. I just bought an ifixit set for 30 bucks. Deffo not as good as wera… id be thanking that subscriber weekly. Lol.

  44. Depends on kind of work, but as a kid (1973) i repaired and played with radio’s and televisions with just a 25W iron and borrowed screw drivers. Then got a very cheap analogue multimeter. I got into building transmitters so bought a Β£8 SWR bridge for an indication of RF power, then next a Taylor RF signal generator i found at a jumble sale to work on shortwave receivers. Was 1978 before i saved up enough for a 600MHz frequency counter as by then was building phase locked loops using logic chips to control transmitter oscillators. Always stuck to analogue and done a lot with valves. Love the things, especially in high power transmitters. Microprocessors leave me cold but forced to delve into it sometimes.

  45. Great video sub’d. You know you are on the right video when you see 2:00 and get excited about just looking at it.

  46. Love your video hello from Australia

  47. Nice!
